CAN/The miraculous Ivory Coast overthrow Nigeria in the final of its CAN

The Ivorian miracle happened
finally accomplished this Sunday evening in Ebimpé. The miraculous Ivory Coast overthrows Nigeria in the final of its CAN 2 goals to 1 and becomes the new king of Africa. 

Opposed to the host country, Ivory Coast in the CAN 2023 final, Nigeria is not going to add an additional star to its jersey. However, everything started well for the Super Eagles with the opening score on a header from captain William Troost-Ekong (38th). Despite a clear domination, the Elephants will go to the locker room trailing on the scoreboard (0-1). 

Supported by 57,000 supporters, Ivory Coast will turn the tide of the match in the second half. The Elephants didn’t give up. Franck Kessié in the 62nd minute then the inevitable Sébastien Haller (81st) offered the Elephants their third continental coronation to the pure happiness of the Ivorian people. 

The Elephants with gold, succeed the Lions of Teranga, winners of the previous edition. Nigeria leaves with silver, while South Africa takes bronze. Ivorian winger Simon Adingra is elected man of the match.
