Burkina/Bobo-Dioulasso tomato processing plant: work is progressing well to everyone’s satisfaction

The Chief of Staff of the President of the Transition, Captain Martha Céleste Anderson Médah, visited the construction site this Friday, in the presence of the Director General of the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC). of the processing plantof tomato.

This visit aims, among other things, to see the progress of the work, to inquire about the difficulties encountered by the companies and to provide solutions, to invite those who are still skeptical to get involved in subscriptions, to encourage the actors involved in the realization of theproject to do everything possible to deliver the infrastructure on time.

After the laying of the first stone in September 2023 and the actual start of the work, a period of 7 months was given to the companies selected for the construction of the infrastructure. For less than 40% of the time consumed, the work has an overall execution rate of 46?cording to the companies in charge of the construction.
And it is with satisfaction that the Chief of Staff of the President of the Transition discovers the buildings growing from the ground which, for the most part, are already at an advanced level.

“We have seen buildings that are built with a lot of technical skill. The progress is satisfactory even if we are not yet finished. But we are very optimistic about the future because we saw a very committed, young and motivated team to achieve the results that were asked of them,” maintained the Chief of Staff of the Head of State.

According to Captain Martha Céleste Anderson Médah, it is not a question of sticking to deadlines but we must move quickly and put this factory into service, if possible, even before the contractual deadlines.

The Director General of APEC indicated that “all stakeholders are committed to returning the infrastructure by the end of June at the latest (…). We hope that at the beginning of July, the first box of tomatoes “made in Bobo-Dioulasso” will be released.”

The Bobo-Dioulasso tomato processing factory is built on an area of 3 hectares and will ultimately generate at least 150 direct jobs and more than 10,000 indirect jobs.
